Soraya Marcano was born in Puerto Rico. She received a BA from the University of Puerto Rico and obtained an MFA from Pratt Institute, New York. Her mixed artwork has been exhibited internationally and it is represented in public and private collections. Marcano has participated in international artist-in-residence programs and she is the recipient of several recognitions and awards. Her work, which includes mixed media, writing, objects, and digital work, provides a layered exploration of mobility. She lives in Madrid.

Née à Porto Rico, Soraya Marcano a d’abord obtenu un diplôme d’art à
l’Université de Porto Rico avant d’intégrer le Pratt Institute de New-York. Elle vit et travaille à Madrid. Elle a participé à plusieurs résidences d’artistes à New-York, en République Dominicaine, au Costa Rica ainsi qu’au Mexique et a obtenu de très nombreuses distinctions. Elle expose beaucoup à New-York et à Porto Rico. En 2003, elle a participé à la Triennale d’Estampes de petit format de Chamalières. Ses oeuvres sont dans les collections publiques en Pologne, en France, à Porto Rico, à New-York, au Panama, et en République Dominicaine. Elle vit actuellement à Madrid.

Soraya Marcano nació en Puerto Rico y estudió en la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Se traslada a Nueva York y recibe una Maestría en Bellas Artes del Instituto de Arte Pratt (MFA). Su trabajo en medio mixto se ha exhibido internacionalmente y está representado en colecciones públicas y privadas.

Soraya Marcano ha sido artista en residencia en centros educativos y colonias artísticas en Nueva York, República Dominicana y Costa Rica. En la actualidad Soraya Marcano vive en Madrid.
